No. Stepluma does not use HealthKit.
Are my steps uploaded to a Stepluma cloud?
No. Stepluma does not automatically upload your activity history to a Stepluma server. An export you start yourself is subject to the privacy terms of the destination you choose.
Steps
Where do the steps come from?
With your permission, Stepluma reads step values provided by iOS through Core Motion.
Why are steps missing?
Data can be missing when the iPhone was not carried, permission was disabled or iOS has not yet provided values.
Why can distance differ from a route?
Any available distance is an estimated iPhone/Core Motion distance, not a GPS-accurate route.
What does partial data mean?
Partial data does not automatically mean zero steps. Stepluma treats incomplete or missing periods cautiously.
Goals
Can I set my own goals?
Yes. Goals and build-up plans support your personal rhythm and are not medical targets.
Insights
Are Activity Score or trends medical values?
No. They are personal orientation, not diagnosis or medical advice.
Does Stepluma calculate a movement age?
No. Stepluma does not show an artificial age number.
Movement Profile & Walk Check
What is a Walk Check?
You intentionally start a roughly three-minute walking session and can then review it in the context of your personal movement.
Does Walk Check assess my health?
No. Walk Check is not a medical measurement and does not assess illness or physical capacity.
Widgets
What do widgets display?
Widgets show selected Stepluma values from a locally protected App Group area on the Home or Lock Screen.
Why does a widget update late?
iOS controls background update timing. Briefly opening the app can make current data available.
Notifications
Can I turn notifications off?
Yes. Change them in Stepluma or in iOS Settings at any time.
Export & Backup
What exports are planned?
Stepluma supports CSV, PDF and share export plus local backup and restore.
When does data leave my iPhone?
Only when you start an export or backup yourself and then choose a destination.
What happens when I delete all data?
Local Stepluma data can be deleted in the app. Files or backups exported before are not automatically deleted from other locations.

How do I move data to a new iPhone?
Create a local backup on the old device, keep it safe and select it for restore on the new device.
