Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026. Stepluma follows a local-first approach. This policy explains transparently which data may be involved when using the website, support, App Store purchase and app. It does not replace individual legal advice.

Controller

Website

This website provides information about Stepluma. It has no user account, contact form, newsletter or embedded third-party content.

Hosting

The website is hosted using Vercel. The website itself does not send app movement data to the host. Stepluma does not use Vercel Analytics, Speed Insights or any other tracking or analytics product.

Vercel processes technical website and service data under its own privacy notice. The regions, subprocessors and settings actually used by the Stepluma project must be checked in the Vercel dashboard before every material deployment.

Server logs

When the website is requested, technically necessary connection data such as IP address, time, requested file, referrer, browser and system details may be processed by Vercel as the hosting provider. Vercel documentation states that platform log data is generally retained for three days; differing project or third-party settings must be checked before a release.

This processing supports technical delivery, security and abuse prevention. The website itself creates no additional tracking cookies or visitor profiles.

Cookies

The Stepluma website does not use cookies. It therefore has no artificial cookie or consent banner.

Tracking and analytics

The website uses no analytics, tracking, advertising or profiling services. It loads no pixels, remote fonts or social-media embeds.

Email support

When you contact us by email, your message, sender address and any details you voluntarily provide are processed to answer your request. Email communication runs technically through the email service used; there is no dedicated Stepluma mail server. Specific provider details will be finalised before release. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

Download and in-app purchase through the Apple App Store

Stepluma is free to download from the Apple App Store. Stepluma Full is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed through Apple's StoreKit/App Store infrastructure.

Stepluma does not process its own card or payment information. stepluma.com has no checkout and collects no payment data. Stepluma does not store your Apple ID. Apple's information and terms apply to purchase, payment and refunds.

Stepluma app

The Stepluma app requires no account, backend or cloud sync. Personal app data is processed locally on the iPhone, regardless of whether Stepluma Full is unlocked.

Local movement data

Steps and personal analysis derived from them remain on your device during normal use. Stepluma does not use GPS and creates no location or route profiles. Depending on use, the following local data categories may exist:

  • Steps and estimated distance
  • Floors, where provided by the device
  • Goals and build plans
  • Activity Score, forecast and insights
  • Walk Check sessions
  • Achievements and streaks
  • Settings and preferences
  • Voluntary personal info
  • Widget snapshot
  • Backup and export files

Voluntary personal data

Information such as year of birth, height or weight may (where available in the app and entered by you) be stored locally. It is used only where meaningful for a specific local feature, such as height for descriptive Walk Check ratios. Not every value affects every analysis.

Core Motion

With your iOS permission, Stepluma reads step information through Apple Core Motion. Analysis happens locally. You can change permission in iOS Settings.

Notifications

Local notifications are used only after your consent. iOS manages notification permission and lets you revoke it at any time. Stepluma does not use notifications for purchase promotion and runs no remote push server.

Widgets and App Group

Home and Lock Screen widgets may share necessary display data between the app and widget using a local, iOS-protected App Group container. This does not create cloud transmission. Your purchase status can affect which values a widget can show; purchase data itself is not shared in this container.

Share cards

A share card is generated locally on your iPhone. Stepluma does not automatically send it to us. Only when you choose "Share" does iOS open the system-wide share sheet and you pick the destination app. The selected destination service processes the shared card under its own privacy terms.

Export and backup

CSV, PDF, share exports and local backups are created only on your explicit action. Once you share a file through another app or service, its privacy terms apply. Restores use a file you select.

Delete local data

Local Stepluma data can be managed or deleted in the app. Files or backups previously exported to Files, iCloud Drive or other destinations are not automatically deleted.

Purchase status and local data

Unlocking, refunding or losing Full access is separate from whether your locally stored activity data exists. A change in purchase status does not automatically delete your local data. Only the "Delete all data" action removes local Stepluma data on purpose.

Retention

Local app data stays on the device until you delete it in the app or remove the app and its data. Support emails are retained only as long as necessary for handling and required records. Vercel documents a general three-day retention period for platform log data; project settings must be checked before a material deployment.

Your rights

Where the controller processes personal data, applicable privacy law may provide rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection and complaint to a supervisory authority. For data stored only in the app, the controller has no technical access; you manage it directly on your device.

Changes

This policy will be updated when features, legal requirements or technical delivery change. The current version will be published on this page.
