Getting started
Open Stepluma and allow Motion access if you want to see step values. The app is free, requires no account and uses neither GPS nor HealthKit.
Missing steps
Step values may appear with a delay. Open Stepluma again and check that Motion permission is active. Partial days are handled accordingly in analysis.
Motion Permission
Stepluma needs access to Motion & Fitness data to read step values from iOS Core Motion on the device. You can review or change permission in iOS Settings.
Missing distance or floors
Estimated distance and floors are shown only when the iPhone provides relevant data. Not every device and situation provides floor data; a zero value is not automatically an error.
Widgets
If a widget is not current, briefly open Stepluma and check it again. iOS determines when widgets can update in the background.
Notifications
Notifications require your explicit iOS permission. You can change them in Stepluma or iOS Settings at any time.
Buying Stepluma Full
Once Stepluma is available on the App Store, you can unlock Stepluma Full directly inside the app through Apple's in-app purchase. The purchase is one-time and handled exclusively by Apple; the website does not sell anything.
Purchase is not showing up
Check your internet connection and the App Store status. Reopen Stepluma and try the purchase or restore again.
Restoring purchases
Use the "Restore purchases" option in Stepluma to reactivate a valid previous purchase through Apple's StoreKit. No Stepluma account is needed.
Full is no longer active
If Apple reports the unlock as no longer valid, for example after a refund, Stepluma falls back to the free feature set. Your locally stored activity data is not affected.
Backup & Restore
Backups are created only when you request them. Keep the file safe and select the correct Stepluma backup file when restoring.
Device change
Stepluma has no own cloud sync. To change devices, create a backup, store it safely and restore it on the new iPhone where supported. A location such as iCloud Drive is your own choice.
Historical data at first launch
Stepluma can pick up the limited Core Motion history still available from the iPhone when you first launch it. Stepluma does not import your complete Apple movement history going back years, and it does not use HealthKit.
History with Free and Full
Your local history keeps being recorded regardless of your purchase status, as long as you use Stepluma. Stepluma Full unlocks additional historical analysis views, but does not change whether your data exists.
Export
CSV, PDF and share exports are created only when you start the action. You then decide where the file goes using the iOS share sheet.
Walk Check
A Walk Check places an intentionally started, roughly three-minute walk in your personal context. It is not a medical measurement or diagnosis.
Delete app data
Local Stepluma data can be deleted in the app. Files or backups exported outside the app are not removed automatically.
App issues
Restart the app and, if needed, your iPhone. Keep iOS and Stepluma current. In a support request, describe the device, iOS version and steps leading to the problem — without sending sensitive data.
Contact
Reach Stepluma support by email. Please do not send sensitive health data or unnecessary personal information. The Stepluma version, iOS version, iPhone model and a short description are helpful.
